The subject of the text is a new type of culture in which freedom is the highest, the most important and ultimate goal of life for individuals and societies (popliberalism). The text examines popliberalism, understood as a sociological phenomenon, as the mainstream of contemporary mass culture (opposed to liberalism as a philosophical doctrine). Analyses have the following structure: first, the author has defines three important aspects of popliberalism: (1) the ideas, which promotes (popliberal ideology), (2) activities which propagates (popliberal morality and ethics), and (3) discusses the attitudes and behavior patterns that popliberalism recommends (popliberal axiology and pedagogy). The author also shows how the social effects of the principle of permanent transgression characteristic for popliberalism are functionally offset by the absurdly essence of popliberal ideology: consistent, programmed inconsistencies and paradoxical essence of popliberal doctrine and practice. At the end, author presents an analysis of the popliberal concept of freedom.
