The objective of the article is to examine the material conditions of the Białystok Province in the years 1957–1970, as well as the differences between the situation in the Białystok region and national rates of salaries, expenses, consumption, provision and accommodation: they all developed to the disadvantage of the province. The analysis also covers behaviors and attitudes of the community in the region in the reality of deficit economy.

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie warunków materialnych mieszkańców województwa białostockiego w latach 1957–1970 oraz różnic między sytuacją na Białostocczyźnie a ogólnopolskimi wskaźnikami zarobków, wydatków, spożycia, zaopatrzenia i warunków mieszkaniowych – wszystkie kształtowały się na niekorzyść prowincji. Analizie poddano również zachowania i nastroje społeczeństwa regionu w realiach gospodarki niedoboru.

The study focuses on the importance of the Parliament’s involvement in construction of the Czechoslovak state. With the exception of the German occupation, as the legislature of the Czechoslovak Republic, the National Assembly played an important role in affecting its republican and democratic character. The article discusses two of the most important stages of the formation of the Czechoslovak statehood. First is the Interwar period when the Czechoslovak statehood demonstrated features typical of parliamentary democracy with assumed parliamentary power, followed by the 1960s when the common state of the Czechs and Slovaks developed on a federal level.

Péter Tímár’s film Dollybirds (Csinibaba, 1997) discovered uncharted territory and made the Hungarians realize that perhaps even subconsciously, they feel nostalgia for the sixties.After the revolution of 1956, year by year the Hungarians started to believe that it is possibileto live in that system, you just have to find the right place for yourself and lay low. Tímárdecided to use those memories combined with popular music tracks in his film, in an adaptationof Gyula Márton’s short story.

Film Pétera Tímára Lalunie (Csinibaba, 1997) odkrył nieznane terytorium, uświadomił rodakom, że być może, nawet podświadomie, odczuwali nostalgię za latami sześćdziesiątymi. Po rewolucji 1956 roku z każdym rokiem Węgrzy nabierali przeświadczenia, że w tym systemie można żyć, trzeba znaleźć dla siebie tylko właściwie miejsce i nie wychylać się zanadto. Te wspomnienia w połączeniu z popularnymi utworami muzycznymi postanowił wykorzystać Tímár w swoim filmie, adaptując opowiadanie Gyuli Mártona.
