W artykule omówiono trzy podejścia do zapobiegania zjawiskom dzieciobójstwa i porzucenia dziecka ze skutkiem śmiertelnym przez „dozwolone prawnie porzucenie dziecka”, czyli poród anonimowy, wyznaczone miejsca nazywane „bezpieczną przystanią” i okna życia. Pokazano różnice między tymi rozwiązaniami oraz ich prawne i etyczne aspekty. Omówiono główne argumenty w debacie o skuteczności tych środków, w szczególności w perspektywie Konwencji o prawach dziecka. Analizę oparto na piśmiennictwie naukowym, raportach oraz dostępnych danych i informacjach o działalności okien życia.

The article discribes the 3 main mechanisms of preventing neonaticide and abandonment of child in unsafe condition through implementaction of possibility of „lawful anonymous abandonment”: anonymous delivery, „safe haven laws” and „baby hatches”. It shows differences between them and their legal and ethic implications. Referring to scientific literature, it presents main argumentation in a debate about effectiveness of these solutions, especially in the perspective of UN Convention on the Rihts of the Child.
