The article presents a strict interpenetration of scientific discourse and literary fiction on the example of Zolaʼs La Joie de vivre. The coexistence of these discourses is part of the poetics of ambiguity, which is characteristic of the weave of literature and science, where Science opposes Doubt. The purpose of the article is to reflect on the relationship between Experience (everyday life) and Experience (scientific). This conceptual opposition is embodied in a pair of main characters: Pauline and Lazare, equipped with a different attitude to reality and science. She learns human physiology by experiencing changes in her maturing body, which appears to her as a complex, but full of secrets, beautiful machinery. He lives by fearing the body and seeing it as the source of death. He wants to defeat death by coming up with experimental designs that are supposed to make him great and bring immortality. His failures lead him to Doubt and negation of science. Zola decides nothing balancing between knowledge and doubt, affirmation of life and the inevitability of death.

The problems of interdisciplinary interaction of History with other Social Sciences have already become the subject of a serious and consecutive scientific research. In this wide spectre of thoughts and opinions a special interest may be paid to considerations and evaluations of a complex process of forming interaction between History and Psychology. In Historiography there even have been formed a new direction, called Psychohistory. Besides, there have remained the achievements of previous generations of historians who didn’t avoid psychological aspects of world and national historical process in their works. It is not the subject matter of this article to elucidate in details the evolution of any particular stage in forming a given direction of modern historiography or any particular segment of psychological discourse. We rather propose a wider historiosophical generalization of problems and perspectives of the method to unite history and psychology. The author accentuates the necessity to enhance the level of general psychologic culture of both ruling elite and wide circles of ordinary public while taking into consideration the potential of communication in order to avoid conflicts. In this sense a separate methodological problem of great importance is psychologic culture of historians themselves as well as their readiness to use rich experience of Psychologic Science in their adequate research of the past. National Historiography is only in the beginning of the road to cognize social processes and historical peculiarities, especially of a recent past. But, at the same time, Ukrainian historic science has rich traditions of deep psychologic penetration into human dimension of national history. Effective combination of traditional experience and new methodological freedom of innovative historical thinking remains a serious methodological challenge on the new stage of national Historiography which requires the feeling of homogeneity of a historical process and, correspondingly, new understanding of homogeneity of historical conscience

The essay attempts to look at the figure of the narrator and researcher immersed in the process of discovering the world of senses and meanings. The text was inspired by the question about the role and importance of the biographical and narrative researcher in the research process, which the author of the text heard at one of the nationwide scientific conferences. The search for answers led to two unique figures of the researcher and narrator: people involved in the recognition of everyday experiences recorded in the history of modern man. The reflections contained in the essay were based on the author’s individual research experiences. The subject of the text focuses on the narrator and the narrative researcher as two active socio-cultural subjects. The narrator is seen from the perspective of a guide through his life, the researcher from the perspective of a person who walks step by step through the nooks and crannies of the narrator’s life, his determining events, meetings with others who change the course of his life so far. The essence of their meeting is trust and understanding.

Poszukiwanie odpowiedzi zaprowadziło myśli ku dwóm wyjątkowym postaciom badacza i narratora: osobom zaangażowanym w rozczytywanie codziennych doznań zapisanych na kartach historii życia współczesnego człowieka.

The subject matter of the paper is a sociological characterization of the new phenomenon of long-term travel abroad of young people, which is becoming more and more common. The main goal of young people taking a gap year is not to undertake work, but to take time out from the typical everyday activity, and their main motive is to gain life experience, useful in many aspects, which helps to shape their own identity, and also social identity. On the basis of the analysis of the reflexive contents of such persons’ recollections, sometimes very personal, and thanks to that extremely valuable, we gain insight into the perspective of perception and planning of their everyday life and future and the creation of individual culture and liberation from various limitations so far. In this way they can also practice authenticity and construe themselves, try out their sense of self and experiment.
