The issue concerns writing the history of Polish literary studies. The core of the author’s proposition is to configure a corpus of texts regarded as theoretical around the so-called cultural themes. One instance of such a theme is reference. There is a compulsory starting point for reconstructing this theme that is so important for Polish scholarly culture: the concept of quasi-judgements. The article presents a redefinition of world renown Ingarden’s idea stressing its semantics roots, and giving the strong evidences for pragmatic foundations for differentiating the discursive field in his philosophy of literature.
