The Influence of Business Cycle on the Forecast of Household Financial Situation

The paper presents the results of the analysis of relationships between the forecasts of household financial situation and quarterly growth of GDP. The research uses ordered dependent variable models (assuming three values: forecasted worsening, no changes, improvement) related to the GDP growth rate and selected control variables. In our calculations we used the quarterly results of economic sentiment surveys in Lubelskie Voivodship conducted from 2nd quarter of 2006 to 3rd quarter of 2012.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy zależności pomiędzy uzyskanymi podczas kwartalnych badań ankietowych prognozami sytuacji finansowej gospodarstw domowych w województwie lubelskim a kwartalnym tempem wzrostu produktu krajowego brutto w Polsce. Do badań zastosowano modele uporządkowanej zmiennej objaśnianej (przyjmującej trzy wartości: przewidywane pogorszenie sytuacji, brak zmian, poprawa) względem tempa wzrostu PKB oraz wybranych zmiennych kontrolnych. W obliczeniach wykorzystano wyniki kwartalnych badań ankietowych nastrojów gospodarczych w województwie lubelskim przeprowadzonych w okresie od II kwartału 2006 roku do III kwartału 2012 roku.
