The article deals with the repeated performances of the function of presidents and vice-presidents of courts, in line with the 2010 Czech Constitutional court decision which abolished the possibility of the one-time repetition of the performance of the function. Following the decision, a new amendment of the Act on courts and judges introduces a ban on repetition with several exemptions. The author points to historical developments of court officials’ repeated performance of a function, current state and the present amendment with its constitutional consequences.

Článek se zabývá problematikou opakovaného výkonu funkce předsedy a místopředsedy soudů v souvislosti s judikaturou Ústavního soudu z roku 2010, která zrušila výslovnou možnost jednorázového opakovaného výkonu funkce, a novelou zákona o soudech a soudcích, jež výslovně zavádí omezení opakovaného výkonu s připuštěním určitých výjimek, a to právě s poukazem na deset let starý nález Ústavního soudu. Autor poukazuje na historický vývoj materie ustavování soudních funkcionářů, recentní stav, jakož i na právě přijatou novelu s posouzením její ústavní konformity.
