The author reviews two issues of „Text Matters: A Journal of Literature, Theory and Cul- ture” that have been published to date. The review discusses the main areas that the Łódź-based publication addresses (literary and cultural studies intersecting with lite- rary theory, gender studies, history, philosophy, and religion), with particular empha- sis on the textual aspect of issues raised in the two volumes. The reviewer also discusses individual contributions, pointing to their interdisciplinary and international character.

Programy telewizyjne o książkach rzadko kiedy stanowią przedmiot odrębnych prac naukowych, co po części wynika z tego, że w teorii nie wyróżnia się takiego gatunku, jak program telewizyjny o książkach. Konsekwencją małej liczby prac jest wybiórczość tematów poruszanych na ich łamach. Wśród nich nie ma też takich, które przybliżałyby audycje emitowane w określonym przedziale czasowym. Niniejsze opracowanie jest w piśmiennictwie naukowym, jak się zdaje, pierwszą próbą syntetycznego ujęcia wyróżnionej grupy programowej. W artykule wskazano programy telewizyjne o książkach wyemitowane w polskiej telewizji publicznej oraz komercyjnej od początku istnienia telewizji w Polsce (1952 rok) do 2002 roku. Głównym celem pracy jest próba ukazania bogactwa oferty programowej z tej grupy oraz prześledzenie ich ewolucji. Praca powstała w oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu, artykuły publicystyczne oraz źródła informacyjne, np. Polską bibliografię literacką i telewizyjne tygodniki repertuarowe.

The article presents TV programs about books broadcasted on Polish public television and commercial since the beginning of television in Poland in 1952 to 2002. The main objective of this paper is to show program offer of this group and in addition, tracing their evolution. The work was based on the science literature, journalistic articles and information sources such as bibliographies (Polish literary bibliography). The theory does not stand out such genre as the program about books. In scientific works they are rarely studied. In the scientific literature it is the first attempt to fully capture the distinguished group of programs.
