Two contexts play an extremely important role in the transformation of the entire counselling system, which evolves from vocational counselling to career counselling: economic and socio-cultural. The transformations resulting from these contexts transform not only the tasks and objectives of guidance activities, but also require the use of specific working methods that are able to respond to the needs and expectations of contemporary counsellors. Vocational guidance is a type of activity that evolves both in terms of content and the methods, techniques and tools used. The information contained in this publication concerns the analysis of the results of own research concerning the methods of work used by vocational advisor’s and an attempt to answer the question: do these methods open up space for the application of coaching in vocational counselling for adults?

W przeobrażeniach całego poradnictwa, które ewoluuje od poradnictwa zawodowego ku poradnictwu kariery odgrywają niezwykle istotną rolę dwa konteksty: ekonomiczny i społeczno-kulturowy. Przemiany wynikające z tych kontekstów przekształcają nie tylko zadania i cele działań doradczych, ale wymuszają stosowanie określonych metod pracy, które są w stanie odpowiedzieć na potrzeby i oczekiwania współczesnych radzących się. Poradnictwo zawodowe stanowi rodzaj działalności, która ewoluuje zarówno w zakresie treści merytorycznej, jak i stosowanych metod, technik i narzędzi. Zawarte w niniejszej publikacji informacje dotyczą analizy wyników badań własnych odnoszących się do metod pracy, jakimi posługują się doradcy zawodowi, i próbie odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy metody te otwierają przestrzeń do zastosowania coachingu w poradnictwie zawodowym dla osób dorosłych?

The author presents conclusions from the study on “The Polish literature and language instruction in secondary school in view of the new curriculum”, in which participated 6000 pupils, their parents, teachers, librarians, and school directors. Correlations are presented between the pupils’ achievements and the schools’ educational requirements, library resources, or family status. Attention is focused on the students’ cultural preferences, the school selection of culture texts, and the ways of teaching their reception. The author comments also on the appearing contradiction as the majority of interviewed teenagers evaluate positively their Polish teachers, both personally and factually. Yet almost 60 per cent of them demonstrate reluctance to talk about literature. The results of statistical analyses are compared with the solutions indicated in the works on the Polish literature and language instruction.

Autorka przedstawia wnioski z projektu badawczego „Dydaktyka literatury i języka polskiego w gimnazjum w świetle nowej podstawy programowej” przeprowadzonego wśród ponad 6000 uczniów, ich rodziców, nauczycieli, bibliotekarzy oraz dyrektorów szkół. Referuje zależności między osiągnięciami uczniów a realizowanymi w szkołach wymaganiami edukacyjnymi, wyposażeniem bibliotek czy statusem rodziny. Skupia uwagę na preferencjach kulturowych gimnazjalistów, szkolnym doborze tekstów kultury i stosowanych przez nauczycieli mechanizmach nauki ich odbioru. Komentuje sprzeczność wynikającą z faktu, że większość badanych nastolatków dobrze ocenia swoich polonistów zarówno na płaszczyźnie interpersonalnej, jak i merytorycznej, a mimo to blisko 60% spośród nich demonstruje niechęć do rozmowy o literaturze. Rezultaty analiz statystycznych zestawia z sugestiami rozwiązań zawartych w pracach z zakresu dydaktyki polonistycznej.

One hundred and thirty years since its creation, Children’s Album, Op. 39 by Pyotr Tchaikovsky has been re-examined taking into account the composer’s manuscript and the piece’s long-term pianistic performing tradition. Recent musicological research suggests that the Album was written as a cyclic form, in which the constituent miniatures are inter-linked by common thematic material and tonal relations and share the same philosophic narrative. The article reviews possible motives behind composing the musical piece for children and the Tchaikovsky’s dramatic circumstances at the time that might have influ-enced its final form. The melodies and texts of the original songs exploited by the com-poser as well as tales and games for children introduced in the miniatures are presented. The author discusses technical aspects of mimicking instruments such as balalaika and bar-rel organ on the piano. Practical guidance on working with the Children’s Album from the point of view of a performer and a teacher is proposed.
