RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is analysis of international risk. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The fundamental problem of this publication is the analysis of selected research on international risk in the subject literature. The article uses traditional research tools which are literature studies. The choice of tool is dictated by the subject selected. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The study consists of three fundamental elements: Genesis and essence of risk. Literature review; Typology of research on risk. Genesis; Research on risk in international relations. RESEARCH RESULTS: risk category is an important instrument for analysing the phenomena occurring in contemporary international environment, an attempt to deal with highly probable global threats and thanks to its successful mitigating mechanisms can be worked out. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: creating new instruments and solutions in risk management; adopting various elements of risk management; developing research and scientific consulting aimed at working out suitable models of risk management; defining the subjects responsible for security in individual countries; analysis of dealing with disastrous situations and securing against them.

Każde przedsiębiorstwo, które chce budować długoterminową przewagę konkurencyjną i w sposób optymalny zarządzać dostępnym kapitałem, powinno budować kulturę organizacyjną opartą na zarządzaniu procesowym. Zarządzanie procesowe koncentruje się na przełożeniu celów strategicznych danego przedsiębiorstwa, na cele poszczególnych procesów biznesowych, obniżeniu kosztów działalności przy jednoczesnym podniesieniu jakości świadczonych usług. Daje gwarancję, iż wszyscy uczestnicy danego procesu zmierzają do osiągnięcia tego samego, wcześniej wyznaczonego celu bez strat czasowych, kosztowych i intelektualnych. Krytycznie ważnym elementem zarządzania procesowego jest nierozerwalnie związany z nim system zarządzania ryzykiem, który również wymaga zdefiniowania, ciągłego monitorowania i wdrażania niezbędnych działań mających na celu redukcję lub eliminację ryzyka. Celem artykułu jest – w oparciu o doświadczenia autora i dostępną literaturę – przedstawienie własnej „mapy drogowej” dojścia do systemu ograniczania ryzyka opartego na podejściu procesowym. Zasadniczą część tego podejścia oparto na mapowaniu procesów w przedsiębiorstwie. Jako przykład zastosowano tu metodologię ITIL i COBIT.

Any company that wants to build a long-term competitive advantage and optimally manage available capital, should build an organizational culture based on process management. Process management is focused on translating strategic objectives of a company, for the purposes of specific business processes, reducing costs while improving service quality. It guarantees that all participants of the process aimed at achieving the same, earlier target without any loss of time, cost and intellectual. A critically important element of process management is inextricably linked to the risk management system, which also involves defining, continuous monitoring and implementation of the risk. The purpose of this article is - based on the experience of the author and available literature - present his own "road map" to come to a system of risk mitigation is based on a process approach. An essential part of this approach is based on the mapping of business processes. As an example used here ITIL and COBIT methodology.
