W literaturze psychopedagogicznej niewiele jest badań związanych z funkcjonowaniem osób uzdolnionych. Wobec tego podjęto się dokonania próby określenia poziomu empatii i poczucia alienacji młodzieży uzdolnionej muzycznie. Wzięto pod uwagę płeć, jako czynnik różnicujący poziom badanych zmiennych. W związku z tym przeprowadzono badanie w grupie 120 młodych osób uzdolnionych muzycznie. Grupę porównawczą stanowiło 60 uczniów szkoły ogólnodostępnej. Zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, technikę ankiety i dwanarzędzia: Indeks Reaktywności Interpersonalnej (Interpersonal Reactivity Index) M. Davisa w adaptacji A. Lewickiej-Zelent oraz Skalę Poczucia Alienacji K. Kmiecik-Baran.

There is a shortage of research pertaining to the functioning of talented young people in psycho-pedagogical literature. Therefore, an attempt has been made to determine the level of empathy and the feeling of alienation in musically gifted young people. Apart from this, the sex as a factor differentiating the levels of the tested variables has been looked into. Hence, a 120 people group of people has undergone this test. The reference group was made up of 60 public school students of a public school. The methods used were: a diagnostic survey, a questionnaire and two other tools – Interpersonal Reactivity Index by M. Davis adapted by A. Lewicka-Zelent, and the Scale of the Sense of Alienation by K. Kmiecik-Baran.
