The article is devoted to the problem of sensory perception as a fundamental value of an artistic text. The complex structure of the presented world and artistic language oriented to mythological thinking create an open space for the realization of the universal dialogue. The analysis of the Aitmatov’s and Kim’s works in this context allows to capture a significant role of senses in the process of creative encoding (author) and decoding (reader) of cultural information in a literary work.

This article introduces the principles of the mechanism of the scapegoat in its historical conditions and the new reality related to the appearance of the post-truth phenomenon. Differences between these realities have been presented in the context of issues related to the cognition and selection of data occurring within the framework of new media. On the basis of these considerations, a diagnosis of the political usefulness of the present mechanism and prospects for future development is formulated.

Niniejszy artykuł przybliża zasady funkcjonowania mechanizmu kozła ofiarnego w jego uwarunkowaniach historycznych oraz nowej rzeczywistości związanej z pojawieniem się zjawiska post-prawdy. Różnice pomiędzy tymi realiami zostały zaprezentowane na tle zagadnień związanych z poznaniem i selekcją danych zachodzącymi w ramach nowych mediów. Na podstawie tych rozważań zostaje sformułowana diagnoza przydatności politycznej wspomnianego mechanizmu obecnie oraz perspektyw rozwoju w przyszłość.

Przedmiotem artykułu są tradycyjne przepowiednie meteorologiczne rozpatrywane jako gatunek mowy. Przedstawiona analiza dotyczy założeń poznawczych konstytuujących tradycyjne prognostyki. Autorka bada zasady organizujące łączenie przesłanki z wnioskiem, a ściślej – zasady łączenia czasu i przesłanki z czasem t’ (późniejszym niż t) wniosku i stawia tezę, iż prosta obserwacja zależności zachodzących w przyrodzie nie jest jedyną podstawą formułowania prognostyków. Duża grupa przepowiedni oparta jest na myśleniu mitologicznym. Taki charakter mają zwłaszcza przepowiednie długoterminowe, w których ze zjawisk atmosferycznych przewiduje się przyszłe losy ludzi czy urodzaj na cały rok. Badając zasady kojarzenia czasu, autorka dochodzi do wniosku, iż podporządkowane są one zasadom metonimii (polegającej na kojarzeniu dwóch okresów pozostających w stosunku przyległości jako część i całość, np. w przepowiedni Jak Marcin [11 listopada] na białym koniu przyjedzie, ostrą zimę nam przywiedzie) oraz podobieństwa (polegającej na kojarzeniu okresów, np. Jakie Zwiastowanie, takie Zmartwychwstanie).

The article discusses traditional meteorological forecasts as a speech genre through an analysis of cognitive assumptions behind them. Inquiry is made into the principles organizing the relationship between the premise and the conclusion; more specifically, between the time t of the premise and the time t’ of the conclusion (later than i). A hypothesis is put forward that mere observation of nature is not the only basis for formulating forecasts, a large portion of the latter being founded on mythological reasoning. Such are especially long-term forecasts concerning people’s lives or the quality of harvest for the whole year. The analysis of the principles of understanding time suggests that the driving forces behind them are metonymy and similarity. The former consists in associating two periods in a part-whole manner, e.g. Jak Marcin na białym koniu przyjedzie, ostrą zimę nam przywiedzie ‘If Martin (11 November) comes riding a white horse, it will bring a severe winter.’ The latter is based on associating time periods, e.g. Jakie Zwiastowanie, takie Zmartwychwstanie ‘Like Annunciation, like Easter.’
