The two most recent Popes – Benedict XVI and Francis – have continued John Paul II’s emphasis on Divine Mercy. Each provides a particular emphasis, which results in a different manner of worshipping Divine Mercy. While each emphasize the entirety of salvation history as revealing Divine Mercy, with its climax in Jesus Christ, Pope Francis more often speaks of mercy so as to avoid a theory of mercy that is not put into practice. One such manner of implementing mercy is the addition of new mysteries of mercy to the Rosary. While this has no support from the papal magisterium of Pope Benedict, it does find support in Pope Francis’ desire to find ways for mercy to penetrate ever more into the daily attitudes and actions of Christians. Even so, care must be taken to frame such a change in the veneration of Divine Mercy within a proper theology that highlights the presence of Divine Mercy in the pre-existing mysteries, particularly that the Incarnation and the Paschal Mystery.

Kult Miłosierdzia Bożego w świetle nauczania papieża Benedykta XVI i papieża Franciszka Dwaj ostatni papieże, Benedykt XVI i Franciszek, wzorem Jana Pawła II, akcentują w swoim nauczaniu Miłosierdzie Boże. Każdy z nich czyni to inaczej, a w związku z tym sposób oddawania czci Bożemu Miłosierdziu będzie u nich inny. Podczas gdy obydwaj papieże akcentują całość historii zbawienia, w której objawia się Miłosierdzie Boże, uwieńczone w osobie Jezusa Chrystusa, papież Franciszek częściej mówi o praktyce miłosierdzia i unika teoretyzowania. Należy zadbać, aby wpisać taką zmianę sposobu oddawania czci Bożemu Miłosierdziu wraz z właściwym uzasadnieniem teologicznym, podkreślającym obecność Miłosierdzia Bożego w istniejących już tajemnicach różańca, zwłaszcza we Wcieleniu i Tajemnicy Paschalnej.
Czerpiąc inspirację z historii kultu Serca Jezusa, a zwłaszcza z prywatnych objawień Bożego Serca św. Małgorzacie Marii Alacoque, liczne episkopaty narodowe poświęcały Najświętszemu Sercu Pana Jezusa Kościoły lokalne i narody.

Taking the inspiration from the history of the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and especially from the private revelations of saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a number of national bishops conferences dedicated the local churches and whole nations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On 11th June, 2021 the Polish bishops conference renewed such act in the difficult situation of the church and the nation, moreover even in the face of weakening devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Every act of dedication and entitlements is a religious act, which obliges to the fulfilment of the commitments that have been taken. In this context the question arises, and what next? In the form of suggestions few concrete steps have been proposed.
God loves us and he wants us to recognize that his mercy is greater than our sin. Pope Francis has published a bull Misericordiae vultus, in which he has proclaimed the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. The Holy Year of Mercy was inaugurated on December 8th 2015 and was concluded on November 20th 2016. The Holy Father teaches: We need constantly to contemplate the mystery of mercy [...]. Our salvation depends on it. In this bull Pope has mentioned a great apostle of mercy, Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, who had mystical visions. Christ told her to spread the cult of mercy. In her Diary we find the following elements of the devotion to the Divine Mercy: image of merciful Christ, the Feast of Mercy, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Mercy hour and spreading the devotion to the Divine Mercy. These elements are analyzed in the present article.

[...] Nasze zba-wienie zależy od niego. W swojej bulli Papież wspomniał o wielkiej apostołce miłosierdzia, Fau-stynie Kowalskiej, polskiej zakonnicy, która miała mistyczne wizje. Chrystus powiedział jej, aby szerzyć kult miłosierdzia. W jej Dzienniczku znajdujemy następujące elementy nabożeństwa do Miłosierdzia Bożego: obraz miłosiernego Chrystusa, święto Miłosierdzia Bożego, Koronka do Miłosierdzia Bożego, godzina Miłosierdzia i szerzenie nabożeństwa do Miłosierdzia Bożego. Te elementy są analizowane w niniejszym artykule.
Przedmiotem rozważań niniejszego artykułu jest próba analizy liturgii nabożeństwa wolnych Kościołów tradycji protestanckiej. W pierwszej części autor wyjaśnia relacje terminologiczne pomiędzy liturgią a służbą Bożą odwołując się do Kościoła pierwotnego i biblijnego dziedzictwa łączącego wszystkie chrześcijańskie tradycje. Ponadto nabożeństwo charakteryzuje m.in. biblicyzm, brak sztywnych formuł liturgicznych, wolne modlitwy, aktywny udział wiernych.

The subject under consideration in this article is the analysis of worship in Free Churches of the Protestant tradition. In the first part the author explains the relationship in terminology between the service of God and liturgy by referring to the early Church and the Biblical heritage that connects all Christian traditions. In the following parts the author attempts to define the essence of Sunday worship in Free Churches, focusing on dominant characteristics and main rituals. Th e author points out that one of the distinguishing features of the service is “planned spontaneity”, which defines the relationships between the components of a regular service and its unpredictability. Th e structure of worship which consists of Scripture reading, prayer and reflection on the Word of God has not changed since the 17th century, although spiritual dynamism allows for spontaneity that is always held in check by divine ordinance. In addition, worship is characterized, above all, by Biblicism, the lack of rigid liturgical formulas, spontaneousfree prayer and the active participation of the faithful.
The content of the article of the above title was developed and presented in three topics, di-vided into smaller sections. From each of these topics, the intention is to penetrate the various issues related to the occurrence and development of certain, often cultivated to this day, outside-of-Mass forms of Eucharistic piety. First, then, one points to the respect for the consecrated Eucharistic species, as well as the reasons for their retention after the Holy Mass and of the faithful taking the Eucharist into homes. In the second section, the article presents the circumstances of the coming into being, within the life of the Church, of the public worship of the Eucharist. While the third describes the public expressions of Eucharistic devotion that in appropriate circumstances came into existence in the Church and which are present still today.

The paper comprehensively describes the history of saints Cyril and Methodius, Moravian mission and the creation of the Slavic alphabet, as well as outlines the main milestones of the Slavic written language formation in Bulgaria, Poland, Czech and Kievan Rus. The author puts forward the thesis that the sacred language created by the Solun brothers became the language of liturgy and homilies from the very beginning, as well as the language of theology, philosophy and hagiography. The history of the Cyril-Methodius tradition, spreading among the Western, Southern and Eastern Slavs, is presented in relation to the analysis of the ancient legends of the Holy brothers, as well as Bulgarian, Polish, Czech and Old Russian manuscripts and medieval chroniclers. The history of the Russian version of the Church Slavonic language is separately considered. The language role in Ancient Rus is analysed, taking into account the point of correlation between the Old Russian and Church Slavonic languages. The problem of the Church Slavonic evolution and functioning in South-Western and Moscow Rus is studied in detail, as well as the formation of a common all-Russian version of this language in the second half of the 17th century
