Popular culture constitutes an inseparable part of social life. New forms and means of cultural expression continuously come into existence. The phenomenon of popular culture is also discussed from the perspective of educational processes. The learning process involves shaping attitudes towards reception of culture and the need for life-long learning. Polysemic nature of popular culture inspires various activities and actions, including the emergence of new jobs, such as a fashion technician, leisure market researcher, or video filmmaker. The article aims to present the picture of a woman created by the producers of Polska Kronika Filmowa (Polish Film Chronicle). The basis for consideration of their role in human society is created by the Chronicle Episodes which were created during the 1947–1955 period, i.e. in the course of the realization of 3 and 6-year economic plans. The analysis of the selected PKF (PFC) comments enables the author to depict the leading prototype of a woman in the propaganda of the Polish government. It also points out the most important features which a Polish woman should have possessed in those days. The authors of PKF present women as very ambitious people, work leaders taking up challenges and, at the same time, being respected. The goal of presenting female workers performing jobs which were reserved for men only was to convince the general public that a woman can still be attractive, even when she is wearing a metallurgist’s uniform.

Artykuł stanowi próbę omówienia obrazu kobiety wykreowanego przez realizatorów Polskiej Kroniki Filmowej. Podstawę źródłową rozważań tworzą wydania kroniki powstałe w latach 1947–1955, czyli w okresie realizacji planów gospodarczych: trzyletniego i sześcioletniego.
