Autorka wskazuje na szerokie ujęcie manualizmu polskiego zaprezentowanego w ujęciu prof. T. Nowackiego. Ukazuje, jaką rolę można przypisać pracom ręcznym w pracy i terapii osób niepełnosprawnych i w jakim stopniu praca ta przyczynia się do życia w społeczeństwie. Podkreśla cele terapii zajęciowej oraz jej związki z polskim manualizmem przedstawianym przez prof. T. Nowackiego. Autorka omawia też znaczenie prac ręcznych w tworzeniu naturalnego środowiska społecznego i warunków rozwoju, nauki, pracy i spędzania czasu wolnego, nie tylko osób niepełnosprawnych, lecz także psychicznie chorych czy seniorów. Autorka zwraca się w artykule ku humanistycznemu nurtowi na rzecz osób niepełnosprawnych i podkreśla, że praca i terapia poprzez pracę są nierozerwalne, a praca jest nieodzowną częścią życia każdego człowieka.

The author points to a wide picture of Polish manualism as developed by prof. T. Nowacki. She discusses the role which can be attributed to manual work and treatment of persons with disabilities and to what extent, this work contributes to life in society. She emphasizes the goals of occupational therapy, and in which this therapy has a link to the Polish manualism as presented by prof. T. Nowacki. The author also discusses the importance of hand working in creating natural social environment and conditions for development, learning, work and leisure activities not only for people with disabilities, but also psychologically ill or elderly. The author turns in the article towards the humanist current for the disabled and emphasizes that the work and therapy are inseparable, and that the work is an indispensable part of everyone’s life.
