Exemplified by the selected prose of Russian writers of 20th and 21th centuries, the author analyses the issue of youthfulness and old age, commencing with the so-cold youth prose (V. Aksyonov, A. Kuznetsov, A. Gladilin) and rural prose (V. Raspu-tin, V. Astafyev). The issue also captures the interest of contemporary writers, including A. Yermakova, I. Mamaeva and Z. Prilepin. In their prose, protagonists, who belong both to the young and old generation, find it difficult to adjust to the reality after the Soviet Union collapse, which aggravates social contrast and eliminates those weak and helpless. Elderly people are most frequently made to live alone, struggling with their financial situation. The young generation, uneducated and unassertive, also find it difficult to live their life in dignity. Based on the analyses carried out, the author comes to the conclusion that it is impossible to create an unambiguous image of relation between the young and old generation since these relations are dependent not on social-political transformations, but on the human’s axiological system.

Celem pracy było określenie zmian liczby i powierzchni upraw sadowniczych w poszczególnych grupach obszarowych powierzchni sadu, w gospodarstwach indywidualnych, wskazanie gatunków owoców, których dotyczyły te zmiany, a także prześledzenie kierunku oraz dynamiki zmian areału upraw sadowniczych w poszczególnych województwach, na podstawie danych GUS, stanowiących wyniki Powszechnego Spisu Rolnego z lat 2002 oraz 2010. Zmiany określono, obliczając różnicę pomiędzy analizowanymi latami i odnosząc ją do roku wcześniejszego spisu rolnego. W analizie zróżnicowania powierzchni sadów w układzie przestrzennym posłużono się współczynnikiem Giniego. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na to, iż produkcja sadownicza w Polsce charakteryzowała się dużym rozdrobnieniem upraw. W analizowanym okresie postępował proces koncentracji gruntów pod uprawami sadowniczymi. W latach 2002-2010 następowała koncentracja przestrzenna upraw sadowniczych w Polsce – powierzchnia sadów drzew i krzewów owocowych zwiększyła się najbardziej w województwach o dużym ich udziale w Polsce.

The aim of this paper was to characterize changes in the number of orchards and orchard areas in private farms in Poland according to area groups of orchard land. The process of orchards’ land concentration by the voivodeships was also analysed.
