Przełom XIX i XX wieku to czas intensywnego rozwoju myśli pe-dagogicznej, a także początków oświaty rolniczej włościan polskich. Do jej kształ-tu przyczyniła się Jadwiga Dziubińska (1874-1937). Dlatego w niniejszym artyku-le głównym problemem stało się ustalenie w aktywności zawodowej J. Dziubiń-skiej tych elementów, które składają się na teoretyczno-praktyczne przesłanki wy-chowania rolniczego społeczności wiejskiej. By je wyodrębnić, autorka sięga do edukacji Dziubińskiej związanej z rolnictwem, jej życiem na wsi oraz relacji z osobami zainteresowanymi rolnictwem. Dorobek jej analizuje i ocenia, biorąc pod uwagę potrzebę unowocześnienia życia i gospodarki rolnej na polskich wsiach. Uważa ona, że J. Dziubińska jest twórczynią polskiej andragogiki rolniczej.

The turn of the nineteenth century was a time of intense development of pedagogical thought as well as the beginning of agricultural education of Polish peasants. One of those who shaped this education was Jadwiga Dziubińska (1874-1937). This is why the main problem discussed in the article is the identification of theoretical and practical foundations for agricultural education of rural communi-ties in the professional work of J. Dziubińska. To point them out, the Author looks back on Dziubińska‟s agriculture-related education, her life in a rural area and re-lations with people who were concerned about rural communities and interested in their development. She analyzes and evaluates the above, while taking into account the need to modernise the life and economy of the Polish countryside. She recog-nises J. Dziubińska as the originator of Polish agricultural education.
