Artykuł przedstawia charakterystykę medialnego obrazu osób z zaburzeniami psychicznymi sporządzoną na podstawie analizy treści i narracji 403 tekstów opublikowanych w polskich dziennikach w 2015 roku. Wykazano w niej, że osoby chorujące psychicznie przeważnie są prezentowane w negatywnych kontekstach lub w celu metaforycznego przedstawienia jakiegoś zachowania jako nielogicznego lub ryzykownego. Ich medialny obraz ma dwojaką formę: z jednej strony są to istoty działające pod wpływem emocji, bez udziału rozumu, z drugiej – są pozbawione emocji i przeintelektualizowane.

The article in which people with mental disorders are being presented in the media. The study is based on content analysis of 403 press materials which were publicized in Polish newspapers in 2015. The author concludes that press expose mental disorders mainly in negative context or as a metaphor for something illogical or risky. The main image of mentally deranged people is usually twofold: they are either very emotional and illogical or overly intellectual and emotionless.
