Celem artykułu jest ukazanie tych elementów bogatego dorobku naukowego profesor Ireny Obuchowskiej, które nie tylko przyczyniły się do rozwoju polskiej pedagogiki specjalnej, lecz nadal mają dla niej istotne znaczenie. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono koncepcję diagnozy pozytywnej oraz propozycje dotyczące teoretycznych podstaw pedagogiki specjalnej. Następnie przeanalizowano trzy koncepcje profesor Ireny Obuchowskiej dotyczące: autonomii, autorewalidacji i integracji społecznej osób niepełnosprawnych. W końcowej części artykułu udo‑ kumentowano, że poglądy profesor Ireny Obuchowskiej na temat modelu postępowania rehabili‑ tacyjnego oraz wspomagania rozwoju dziecka są nadal aktualne.

The aim of the article is to show these elements of the rich scientific academic achievements of professor Irena Obuchowska, which not only contributed to the development of Polish special edu‑ cation, but still have significant meaning for it. The first part of the article presents the concept of positive diagnosis and proposals regarding the theoretical foundations of special education. Next, three concepts of professor Irena Obuchowska regarding: autonomy, self-revalidation and social integration of disabled people were analyzed. In the final part of the article, it was documented that the views of professor Irena Obuchowska on the subject of the rehabilitation treatment model and child development support are still valid.
