A group of adults classified as Adult Children of Alcoholics is growing in our country. Also students belong to this group which causes significant pastoral challenge for academic chaplaincy. Students – Adult Children of Alcoholics – that undergo therapy should obtain special support by community of academic chaplaincy. First of all, in the community, they should experience God’s love and anchor their life changes in God’s unconditional love towards them. This experience of meeting God should be achieved by Eucharist, sacrament of penance and reconciliation and sacrament of the sick. Joint and individual reflection upon the Bible, as well as prayers within the community of academic chaplaincy, should also become a way of discovering unconditional love of God and His care about every man. Academic chaplaincy, offering community support to Adult Children of Alcoholics students, should also organize professional psychological and therapeutical support for them.

In the paper, a source analysis of the spiritual counseling of accompaniment to sacramental spouses and people in irregular situations has been taken up on the basis of post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation, Amoris laetitia by Pope Francis. The concept of accompaniment is a leading term in subsequent chapters of the document. The meaning of the concept of accompaniment and the character of counsel presented by the Pope are introduced. Then, subsequent contexts of the counsel taken up in the exhortation were characterized. The issue of the accompaniment is discussed in relation to spouses and it involves subsequent stages of the development of love and situations requiring special attention. The key to caring for children and integrating with the Church community also includes the issue of accompanying and discerning those who are in non-sacramental relationships, defined as irregular situations and in complex situations as well. The relation of the accompanying counsel to the moral evaluation of the conducted people was also defined. Discussing the forms of pastoral practice, the purpose, scope, competence and means of providing community and individual assistance that are adapted to needs and life-sustaining problems, were identified.

The problem of life and the reality of the family are closely connected and one can safely say that they are almost inseparable. It is enough to look at the documents of the Second Vatican Council to see that marriage and the family are a deep union of married life and love (Gaudium et Spes 48). St. John Paul II in the encyclical Evangelium Vitae highlights the relationship between the family and the gift of life (EV 92). This publication is dedicated to the pastoral support of marriages and families in respect for life. It consists of several parts in which the author presents successively the value and inviolability of human life, describing the basic environment of human life, that is a family whose mission is the transmission and protection of life. Next, we fi nd a discussion of the mission of the Church, which is called to serve man and family and especially to support the family in the affi rmation of life. The article culminates in the presentation of selected forms and ways of pastoral support for the family, including the word of God, the witness of the spouses’ lives, accompanying spouses and family, and concrete actions the Church undertakes to defend life.
