The paper discusses the issue of clearing an area of explosive and dangerous objects, which is essential to ensure security for the people. To accomplish this task, the Polish Armed Forces contain in its structure thirtynine professional explosive ordnance disposal units and two groups of mine clearance divers of the Polish Navy. This paper presents information related to the work of explosive ordnance disposal units, regarding their activity as an important aspect of the activity of the Polish Armed Forces, ensuring security for Polish citizens. The author also describes legal acts regulating their work, their deployment and areas of responsibility, activation procedure, the organization of training, as well as their structure and equipment.
