Communication in the Adolescent – Daughter and Mother and Communication with the peers of the same sex. Without a doubt relationship between Mother and Daughter is the most intense of all relationships. On the other hand, peers play a very important role in interpersonal relations during the period of adolescence. The purpose of the research was to determine the relation between the quality of communication between an adolescent daughter and the quality of communication with peers of the same sex. The data were collected from a sample of 138 female students aged 15 and 16. The researcher employed: Scale of Communication of Parents with Adolescents (PACS) and a sociometric questionnaire – Plebiscite of Kindness and Reluctance of Korczak. The initial results of the research indicate that the quality of communication between adolescent daughter and her mother is highly influenced by sociodemographic factors and communication with peers of the same sex depends on quality of relationships with mother.

The aim of this article is to outline school psychologist’s interventions, which might be useful while supporting a chronically, somatically ill child in their re-entry to school, aiming at broadening their peers’ knowledge about the chronic disease and positively changing their attitudes towards the ill child. In the first part, the importance of peer relationships in childhood and adolescence, the relation of their quality to school absences and the positive role of school attendance in the process of adapta-tion to illness and recovery, are presented. Then, the arguments for school psychologist to become an agent of child’s positive school re-entry are provided. A framework of tasks to be performed by psy-chologist in the school setting is outlined. The second part focuses on the interventions which might be useful to meet expectations the environment has towards school psychologist in case of an ill child’s return to school. Among them, negative messages’ delivery, educational workshops design and deli-very, promoting self-advocacy of the child, preventing violence and supporting child’s siblings have been chosen as important areas of actions related to the child’s peers. A selection of suggestions how to deal with these diverse fields of activity has been outlined, basing on re-entry models, as well as on useful directions and interventions to prevent bullying and support children in developing psychoso-cial competences, which are discussed in research reports, metaanalyses and professional literature.

To świat ludzi dorosłych: rodziców, wychowawców, nauczycieli kształtuje te warunki, definiuje normy i reguły życia społecznego, nie zawsze jednoznaczne i spójne.

In presented paper we analyse in detail family, peer environment, neighbourhood and school. We do it in search for flaws in system of values, in educational activities that lead to a significant increase of acts filled with aggression manifesting itself in number of ways. Violence always causes humiliation, tribulation, gives birth to hate, craves vengeance, and there is nothing into it that could argue In favour of its use. Violence is always a result of personal action, is usually intentional and, at its essence, is to violate law and goods of an individual what precludes self‑defence and causes damage. In research pre‑ sented we assumed that the source of violence is social environment of an individual, in particular: school, family and peers. In conducted research we aimed at determining basic levels of group influence that might eventually lead to increasing the sense of hazard among the youth of Łódź. We also intended to show quality of environments that influence the process of moulding young people’s personality. Results of this research allow us to conclude that the world of adults – parents, educators, teachers – defines norms and rules of social life that are not always explicit and coherent. Therefore life in such ambiguity causes normative disorientation, disturbed hierarchy of values that leads to increase of aggressive behaviour in social life.

The aim of the article was to investigate the early school leaving phenomenon on the basis of the survey sample of 3157 students of basic vocational and upper secondary schools in Poland (located in urban areas in Warsaw, Lublin and Chełm), surveyed in 2014. The main focus has been on the correlation between students’ social support – as an indicator of social capital – and their plans for the future, in particular the respondents’ desire to continue formal, full-time education. The multivariate regression analyses conducted confirm the existence of a correlation between the respondents’ desire to leave formal education before completing upper secondary school and the perceived level of social support. However, in the case of perceived parental and teachers’ support, the correlation appears to be weak. The most important category of significant others is constituted by friends/peers.

Metoda wielozmiennowej analizy wariancji zastosowana w celu przetestowania związku pomiędzy poziomem edukacji, jaki respondenci chcieliby osiągnąć, a deklarowanym przez nich poziomem wsparcia społecznego potwierdziła istnienie takiej relacji.

Millions of people worldwide play video games; also in Slovenian post-modern society. Most of them do it for enjoyment, yet a small number of individuals show traits associated with addictive behaviour when interacting with their games. The authors in the article point out that, compared to drug abuse, there exist some more approachable life-related activities that can lead to addiction. They stimulate the excretion of endorphins and lead to the transformation of consciousness. Addiction to video games is an ostensible attempt to satisfy the immanent human need for meaning. The economy of the Slovenian young consumer society inspires it and is based on “learning” of these alienated needs. The modern hyperpragmatic society makes it possible for young people to have a fragmented identity and places them under the pressure of constant choice of (formally open opportunities). The purpose of this paper is to familiarize the reader with possible causes, clinical signs and methods of treatment of this disorder in Slovenian postmodern society, and explain the reasons why currently no medical textbook in the world contains any information regarding video game addiction. We intend, further, to demonstrate that gaming has become a type of “sport” in certain countries and demonstrate how potentially devastating even this type of addiction can be. The authors present the results of a research, which was undertaken on a sample of 350 individuals, to determine the appearance of indicators of behavioural addiction to video games and their connection with some family factors. They determine that through addiction to video games, post-modern societies have developed an addictive identity.

W artykule omówiono wybrane aspekty charakteryzujące młodzież w Polsce i w Niemczech w perspektywie socjologicznej i porównawczej.
