In this paper I introduce the category of leisure situation in analogy to the aes-thetic one. It is pointed out the subjective nature of the leisure situation as situation depend of the state of mind. This complements the existing definition of leisure given by Joffre Dumazedier with a new aspect defined by John Neulinger establish-ing leisure situation as a psychological one. I analyzed quantitative and qualitative analysis of the leisure situation by statistical measurement of the „distribution of perception” („spectrum of perception”) of that kind of time in selected social groups. It was shown how the individual subjective perception of the leisure situation defined in this paper is translate into a statistical snapshot of the axiology and perception of free time, thus consequently goes to new opportunities of the philo-sophical analysis of this phenomenon as well as axiology of its higher and lower forms. The perception of such forms of spending time as for example: cooking, working on the plot (in the garden), playing with a kids is treated once as the pleas-ure and the second time as a duty which booth depends on the situation as well as state of mind. I argue for transformation of free time pedagogy to the pedagogy of freedom.
