This study presents the cognitive behavioural treatment model of alcoholism. We can say in general, that the psychotherapy of addicts is a complex procedure, involving several methods. Each client showes unique specialties, characteristics. So the therapy is unique as well, it has to adopt itself to the actual status of the patient, to the state of motivation, and to the needs of patients using unique interventions. The other characteristic of treatment is that it is a long term therapy, and the aim of treatment apart from sobriety is to reach and keep the optimal quality of life.
