The article presents the model of adjustment of political preferences created by Caprara and Zimbardo. It assumes that personal profiles of voters and politicians become more and more important in the electoral process. Furthermore, voters support politicians whose personality profiles resembles their own. The author’s studies which confirm the above mentioned findings are quoted in the article. The fact that people downplay the importance of political programs and tend to concentrate on traits may favour their interest in politics.

Contemporary market offers diverse development opportunities. One of them is coaching defined as a method of triggering promptly one’s personal potential resources. Coaching methodology is more and more commonly appreciated by managers. The purpose of the article is to show the idea of functioning of a manager as a coach who, by means of a coaching interview, enables their subordinates to perform better thanks to reinforcing their awareness of both situational conditioning of problems and their personal possibilities and constraints. To provide a manager with a possibility of effective application of coaching tools, it is worth taking into account the context of their own personality potential. Such considerations are conducted based on the subject literature and case studies involving analysis and psychological interpretation.

A number of early works by L.N. Tolstoy is devoted to the problems of love in its modifications, modulations and shades. Tolstoy who, as an artist, discovered the law of “fluidity” of human person proves here that love states are multidimensional and changeable, that movement is the nature of love itself. Love feeling goes through its different kinds: from “beautiful” and “selfless” love to ideal, highly moral “active” love. Gradations are relative, differences among “kinds of love” are caused by degree of presence of subjective-egoistic element. Stages of “dialectics” of feelings are interconnected with emotional and spiritual development of the personality. Tolstoy is sure that man is free in choice of his own way in the life of heart and in his responsibility for it to his own life and other people.

Zgodnie z teorią osobowości zawodowej J.L. Hollanda istnieje sześć typów osobowości zawodowej i sześć odpowiadających im modeli środowiska pracy, a typ osobowości człowieka powinien być zgodny z modelem środowiska. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badania profilu osobowości zawodowej ponad 300 studentów rachunkowości Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. Okazało się, że dominuje wśród nich zdecydowanie typ konwencjonalny. Autorzy dowodzą, że ten typ osobowości ma cechy, predyspozycje i preferencje, które są zupełnie nieadekwatne do wymogów współczesnego systemu rachunkowości.

As per J. L. Holland’s occupational personality theory, six types of occupational personality exist with which six models of the work environment are matched. An individual’s personality type should be compliant with the model of the environment. In the article, research on occupational personality of over 300 students studying accounting at the University of Lodz has been presented. It emerged that the conventional personality type dominates among the examined students. The authors argue that the mentioned personality type has attributes, predispositions and preferences which completely do not fit the current accounting system.

Last years of I.S. Turgenev’s life are marked by his increased interest in problem of the inexplicable, supernatural, strange. Mystery of love and laws of love are on the foreground of his “mysterious stories” written in 1870-1880-ies. Peripetias of love feeling are conjugated to activity of the supersensual, irrational within mentality of heroes, to their hereditary links, unintentional faults, misgivings and insights. The concealed and obvious, conscious and unconscious in human more often are conveyed not in traditional Turgenevian way of “secret psychology”, but in artistic means similar to the style of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky: through inner monologue, developed inner dialogue and portrait dynamics. In the psychological descriptions which not seldom are grotesque the writer’s notions of mysterious powers subjugating the personality, of “tragic sense of love” are concretized.

This article is a study of research on factors influencing decision-making under risk. An important management competence is the ability to make rational decisions. In reality, however, decisions are made with limited rationality or using heuristic methods. The right decisions are the basic factor affecting the condition of an enterprise and determining its development. Typically, the decisions made are influenced by the decision-maker's personality, experience and emotions. However, in professional life, decisions are also influenced by formal and legal regulations and rules as well as the rules and methodology adopted in a particular company. By confronting the ways in which decisions are made in both professional and personal life, it is possible to infer the tendencies that drive decision-makers. The article presents the results of an extensive literature analysis on governance and the influence of personality on decisionmaking. In the research part, a survey of a selected group of people was conducted and the results obtained were analysed comparatively in relation to the gender of the respondents. The results showed a greater tendency for men to take risks. Women were better at assessing the consequences of their decisions. Both women and men were cautious in estimating risks in professional decisions.

Artykuł stanowi studium badań nad czynnikami wpływającymi na podejmowanie decyzji w warunkach ryzyka. Ważną kompetencją zarządczą jest zdolność do podejmowania racjonalnych decyzji. W rzeczywistości decyzje są jednak podejmowane z ograniczoną racjonalnością lub z wykorzystaniem metod heurystycznych. Właściwe decyzje są podstawowym czynnikiem wpływającym na stan firmy i warunkującym jej rozwój. Na podejmowane decyzje wpływa osobowość decydenta, jego doświadczenie oraz emocje. Jednakże w życiu zawodowym decyzje są także uzależnione od formalno-prawnych rozporządzeń i przepisów oraz przyjętych w firmie zasad i metodyki. Konfrontując się ze sposobami podejmowania decyzji w warunkach życia zawodowego oraz osobistego można wnioskować o tendencjach, którymi kierują decydenci, a także niektórych cechach ich osobowości. W przedstawionej pracy przeprowadzono obszerną analizę literatury dotyczącej zrządzania i wpływu osobowości na podejmowane decyzje. W części badawczej przeprowadzono ankietyzację wybranej grupy osób, a uzyskane wyniki poddano porównawczej analizie w odniesieniu do płci respondentów. Rezultaty badań wykazały większą tendencję do podejmowania ryzyka przez mężczyzn. Kobiety lepiej oceniały skutki podejmowanych przez siebie decyzji. Zarówno kobiety, jak i mężczyźni ostrożnie szacowali ryzyko w decyzjach zawodowych.
