Motiviertheit gilt in der Phraseologie als ein intersubjektiv schwer fassbares Phänomen, weswegen sie als Phraseologizitätskriterium umstritten ist. Die Komplexität der Motiviertheitsmechanismen wird besonders gut sichtbar, wenn ein Idiom dem Prozess der Bedeutungserweiterung unterliegt. Am Beispiel des Idioms ein heißes Pflaster im authentischen Sprachgebrauch beschreibt die Autorin, wie konzeptuelle Metaphern, Metonymien und Metaphtonymien die Bedeutung des Idioms mitkonstituieren.

The motivation is in the phraseology to a great extent an individual and controversial phenomenon, especially when the analyzed idiom is undergoing a semantic extension of its meaning. While analyzing examples of authentic use of the idiom ein heißes Pflaster the author distinguishes and describes conceptual metaphors, metonymies and metaphtonomies to reveal the complexity of motivating mechanisms of its meaning.

Badając przykłady autentycznego użycia idiomu ein heißes Pflaster autorka wyodrębnia i opisuje konceptualne metafory, metonimie i metaftonimie (metaphtonomy) w celu ukazania kompleksowości mechanizmów motywujących jego znaczenie.
