The author presented current ethical and legal aspects relating to the plagiarism of copyright work (and scientific findings) imported in the field of scientific and academic activity, such as: 1) legal characterisation of the recognised similarity of copyright works, 2) the indication of authorship of exploited works (including using QR codes or links), 3) rules of liability in the case of infringement of the authors’ rights (moral redress), 4) co-authorship (the rules concerning the indication of the authors’ creative input; the „borders” of liability of individual co-authors), 5) actions undertaken to protect scientific integrity, approved codes of conduct governing research integrity, including the code approved by the Polish Academy of Sciences, or the new IT instruments, such as a plagiarism checker software or the Uniform Anti-plagiarism System (mandatory system).
