The modern man life’s problem of “being in a hurry” is becoming a research subject of not only philosophers, anthropologists and sociologists, but also biologists and doctors. The author points at chosen aspects of civilisation breakthrough which caused a confrontation of two axiological systems, both rooted in different traditions: one, of being submissive towards time, and second, of managing a necessary amount of time in order to obtain a product.

Problem pośpiechu, w jakim żyje człowiek współczesny, coraz częściej staje się przedmiotem refleksji nie tylko filozofów, antropologów i socjologów, lecz także biologów i lekarzy. Autorka zwróciła uwagę na wybrane aspekty zmiany cywilizacyjnej, która doprowadziła do konfrontacji dwóch systemów aksjologicznych, z których każdy jest zakorzeniony w odmiennej tradycji: podporządkowania się czasowi i zarządzania czasem niezbędnym do uzyskania określonego wytworu.
