Uważa się, że Polska jest odpowiedzialnym członkiem NATO i Unii Europejskiej. Relacja między Kościołem katolickim a Siłami Zbrojnymi Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ma ponad tysiącletnią tradycję. Obsługa kapelanów wojskowych związana jest z różnymi działaniami. Ważne zadania duszpasterstwa kapelana dotyczą odprawiania Mszy św. I innych nabożeństw, pomagania i opieki nad żołnierzami i ich rodzinami, kultywowania wartości etycznych oraz dbania o edukację patriotyczną i religijną. Rola wojskowych kapłanów była zawsze związana z utrzymaniem ich towarzyszy. Najważniejszą czynnością było towarzyszenie żołnierzom, niezależnie od tego, gdzie byli na swoich misjach. Obecnie polscy kapelani wojskowi biorą udział w prawie każdej zagranicznej misji naszej armii. Ten artykuł jest związany z wyżej wymienionymi problemami.

Poland is believed to be a responsible NATO and European Union member state. The relations between the catholic church and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland have been maintained for over one thousand years. The service provided by military chaplains includes various activities. The most important tasks of the chaplain's ministry relate to celebrating masses and other devotions, helping and caring about soldiers and their families, cultivating ethical values as well as taking care of their patriotic and religious education. The role of military chaplains has always been connected with supporting their companions. The most important activity was accompanying soldeirs wherever they were on their missions. Nowadays, the Polish military chaplains take part in almost every foreign mission of our army. In order to perform their role well, chaplains need to be well-educated, which is a guarantee of competent fulfillment of their duties as well as dealing with the hardship and dilemmas faced by them during their missions. Military chaplains serving in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland are soldiers. Their competencies stem from the NATO standards. The current model of chaplains’ preparation for their military missions is insufficient
