Organizacja Wojskowa Pomorza, istniejąca od końca 1918 do początków 1920 r., była jedną z kilku polskich regionalnych konspiracyjnych organizacji wojskowych powstałych po I wojnie światowej, stawiających sobie za cel przyłączenie ich dzielnic do odradzającego się państwa polskiego. Będąc częścią polskiego ruchu narodowego w prowincji Prusy Zachodnie, w tym także odbiciem jego struktury społecznej, stanowi po upływie stu lat interesujące zjawisko z punktu widzenia historii wojskowej, ale i historii społecznej, zarówno w skali regionalnej, jak i ogólnopolskiej. Nikły stan zachowanej bazy źródłowej skutkuje do dziś skromnym stanem badań nad tą organizacją. W prezentowanym tekście – na miarę źródłowych możliwości – przedstawiono kolejne etapy jej rozwoju organizacyjnego i główne obszary działalności, w powiązaniu z działaniami ruchu polskiego na Pomorzu i sytuacją polityczno-militarną tego obszaru w roku poprzedzającym powrót jego większej części do Polski w styczniu i lutym 1920 r., jak też zmieniającymi się w tym okresie oczekiwaniami wobec OWP ze strony Komisariatu Naczelnej Rady Ludowej i Dowództwa Głównego Sił Zbrojnych w Zaborze Pruskim w Poznaniu i naczelnych polskich władz wojskowych w Warszawie. Sformułowano też postulat dalszych badań nad OWP, jej kadrą kierowniczą szczebla centralnego i terenowego oraz bazą członkowską, w powiązaniu z analogicznymi badaniami nad innymi polskimi konspiracjami wojskowymi tamtego czasu: Polską Organizacja Wojskową, Polską Organizacją Wojskową Zaboru Pruskiego oraz Polską Organizacją Wojskową Górnego Śląska.

Die Pommersche Militärorganisation bestand von Ende 1918 bis Anfang 1920 und war eine von mehreren polnischen regionalen konspirativen Militärorganisationen, die nach dem 1. Weltkrieg entstanden und sich den Anschluss ihrer Regionen an den wieder entstehenden polnischen Staat zum Ziel setzten. Als Teil der polnischen Nationalbewegung in der Provinz Westpreußen und dabei auch ein Abbild ihrer sozialen Struktur stellt sie nach dem Ablauf von hundert Jahren ein interessantes Phänomen aus der Perspektive der Militärgeschichte, aber auch der Sozialgeschichte dar, sowohl im regionalen wie im gesamtpolnischen Maßstab. Die schlechte Quellenlage hat bis heute dazu geführt, dass der Forschungsstand zu dieser Organisation bescheiden ist. Im vorliegenden Text werden im Rahmen der durch die Quellen gegebenen Möglichkeiten die verschiedenen Etappen ihrer organisatorischen Entwicklung und die Hauptgebiete ihrer Aktivität vorgestellt, in Verbindung mit den Aktivitäten der polnischen Bewegung in Pommern und der politisch-militärischen Lage dieses Gebiets im Jahr vor der Rückkehr seines größten Teils an Polen im Januar und Februar 1920, ebenso die sich in dieser Zeit wandelnden Erwartungen an die Organisation von Seiten des Kommissariats des Obersten Volksrats und der Obersten Führung der Streitkräfte im Preußischen Teilungsgebiet in Posen und der obersten polnischen Militärführung in Warschau. Formuliert wird auch die Notwendigkeit weiterer Forschungen zur Organisation, ihres Führungskaders auf zentraler und lokaler Ebene sowie ihrer Mitgliederbasis, in Verbindung mit analogen Forschungen zu anderen polnischen militärischen Konspirationen in dieser Zeit: der Polnischen Militärischen Organisation, der Polnischen Militärischen Organisation des Preußischen Teilungsgebiets sowie der Polnischen Militärischen Organisation von Oberschlesien.

The Military Organization of Pomerania, operating from the end of 1918 to the beginning of 1920, was one of several Polish regional underground military organizations established after World War I, aiming to incorporate their districts into the reviving Polish state. As part of the Polish national movement in West Prussia, it reflected the provinces’s inhabitants’ social structure. After a hundred years it constitutes an interesting phenomenon from the point of view of not only military history, but also social history- both on a regional and national level. The poor condition of the preserved source base still results in a modest state of research concerning this organization. The presented text presents subsequent stages of its organizational development and the main areas of activity, along with the activities of the Polish movement in Pomerania and the political and military situation of this area in the year preceding the return of most of Pomerania to Poland in January and February 1920. It also takes into consideration the expectations towards the Military Organization of Pomerania as expressed by the Commissariat of the Supreme People's Council and the Main Command of the Armed Forces in the Prussian Partition in Poznań and the Polish Supreme Military Authorities in Warsaw. A postulate was also formulated to carry out further research on the Military Organization of Pomerania, its management at the central and local levels, and a membership base, in conjunction with similar research on other Polish military underground movements of that time: the Polish Military Organization, the Polish Military Organization of the Prussian Partition and the Polish Military Organization of Upper Silesia.
