Reflection plays a significant role in the education. The aim of this paper is to explore the importance of reflection in foreign language teaching. Only conscious decisions, drawing critical conclusions from the achieved goals and constant analysis can lead to certain efforts in the didactic process. The author remarks on the correlation between the basic assumptions concerning foreign language teaching made by the Council of Europe and the constant reflection. The article focuses on the wide range of possible activities encouraging learners to reflect on foreign language acquisition. It also demonstrates the profits deriving from the critical analysis of the reached aims in order to make L2 acceptability judgments. The division of the reflection scope into micro and macro visualizes the relevance of the topic studies not only at the national but also at the global level.
