In the late twentieth and early twenty-first century there was a political mobilization of states built on the model of nationalistic. This trend is very clear especially in the area of Central and Eastern Europe and in Central Asia. Any attempt a new organization of the semantic concepts of statehood, citizenship, nationality, country, nationalism, ethnos, ethnic minority, diaspora, migration, etc. Showed all the imperfections and archaic conceptual apparatus used in the social sciences. Polemics calls, for example, the issue of categorization: whether Russians outside the Russian Federation should be considered diaspora, even though formally they left their country of residence, or the Russians in the former Soviet states are a classic example of a national minority and that instead the term the Russians would use the term Russian-speaking minority? Management diaspora, national and ethnic minorities, peeled by the state ethnic policy ideas have consequences in the regional and global scale, especially in the area of national and international security, economic, social and demographic and even civilizational and cultural.

Celem artykułu jest analiza wpływu kultury popularnej na obszar poradziecki ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem procesu amerykanizacji polityki w Republice Gruzji. Obszar, który tworzą państwa powstałe po rozpadzie ZSRR jest wyjątkowo podatny na wpływy kultury obcej. Jest to związane z wyparciem homogenicznej kultury radzieckiej oraz nie zrekonstruowaniem i przywróceniem kultur narodowych. Współcześnie rolę kultury dominującej pełni oparta na wzorcach zachodnich kultura popularna i to ona w znacznej mierze jest przyczyną wypierania kultur narodowych w państwach postsowieckich. Amerykanizacja gruzińskiej kultury politycznej widoczna jest przede wszystkim w procesie mediatyzacji oraz sposobie prowadzenia kampanii wyborczych. Tę tezę potwierdza analiza wyborów parlamentarnych w latach 2004, 2008 i 2012.

The aim of this article is to analyse the influence of popular culture in the post-Soviet region with particular attention to the Americanization of politics in the Republic of Georgia. This region with the states that emerged after the dissolution of the USSR is particularly susceptible to the influences of alien cultures, which is connected with renouncing the homogenous Soviet culture and non-reconstruction and non-restoration of national cultures. Nowadays, the role of the dominant culture is played by popular culture based on the Western model; this culture is largely responsible for supplanting national culture in the post-Soviet states. Americanization of the Georgian culture in visible mostly in the process of mediatization and in the way election campaigns are conducted. This thesis is supported by the analysis of parliamentary elections held in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
