Artykuł składa się z części teoretycznej, w której przedstawiono problematykę oceny efektywności łańcucha wartości przedsiębiorstwa oraz z części empirycznej, w której zaprezentowano wyniki badań. W badaniach empirycznych zastosowano kwestionariusz wywiadu skierowany do właścicieli i naczelnego kierownictwa 208 przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących w dziesięciu sektorach. Celem badań było: wskazanie kluczowych czynników wywierających wpływ na podejmowane zmiany w strukturze łańcucha wartości przedsiębiorstw, ukazanie zakresu wykorzystywanych sposobów ukierunkowanych na podnoszenie efektywności łańcucha wartości m.in. poprzez wyodrębnianie procesów w formie outsourcingu, zawieranie aliansów strategicznych, realizację transakcji w postaci fuzji czy też przejęć, wskazanie rodzaju działań, które podejmują badane przedsiębiorstwa w celu skutecznego zarządzania kosztami. Ponadto badania pozwoliły ustalić: poziom oceny realizacji działań w zakresie zarządzania procesowego, oraz rodzaje wykorzystywanych koncepcji i metod w pomiarze oraz ocenie efektywności łańcucha wartości badanych przedsiębiorstw.

The article consists of a theoretical part, which presents the problem of assessing the efficiency of the company’s value chain, and with the empirical part, which presents the results of researches. In empirical studies we used the interview questionnaire addressed to owners and top management 208 of companies operating in ten sectors. The aim of the empirical studies was to: identify the key factors affecting the changes made in the structure of the value chain of the surveyed companies, showing the range of used methods aimed to improving the efficiency of the value chain, e.g.: by outsourcing, concluding strategic alliances, implementation of transactions in the form of mergers or acquisitions, indication of the type of activities that carry companies in order to effective manage costs. Furthermore, researches have determined: the assessment level of the implementation of activities in the field of process management, and the types of concepts and methods used in the measurement and assessment of the efficiency of the value chain of the surveyed enterprises.
