On the basis of findings resulting from the use of appropriate theoretical instruments – namely covert participant observation and non-category interviews – the author outlines the nature of the work of the librarian in the school library in Urszulin, a village which is located 60 km northeast of Lublin and which is the municipal seat of the Włodawa district.

Na bazie ustaleń wynikających z użycia stosownych instrumentów teoretycznych, a mianowicie obserwacji uczestniczącej ukrytej i wywiadu nieskategoryzowanego, autorka przedstawia w zwięzły sposób specyfikę pracy w bibliotece szkolnej Zespołu Szkół w leżącym 60 kilometrów na północny wschód od Lublina Urszulinie, będącym siedzibą gminy w powiecie włodawskim.
