Current reform of a science and higher education system in Poland introduces among other amendments also some new regulations referring to the employment of researchers. This manuscript presents those changes in the context of scientific activity conditions on different stages of scientific career. In the second part it includes an attempt to answer a question whether and in what sense one can speak of precarization of employment in the science and higher education system in our country.

Postępujący proces prekaryzacji społeczeństwa wskazuje, że realizacja zrównoważonego i zintegrowanego rozwoju pozostaje w krajach Wspólnoty wyłącznie w sferze deklaracji. Uzasadniając tę tezę, w opracowaniu przedstawia się treść ekonomiczną „procesu prekaryza-cji społeczeństwa”, jego społeczno-ekonomiczne skutki oraz podstawowe źródła, którymi są: oparcie systemów ekonomicznych krajów na doktrynie neoliberalizmu i postępująca globalizacja przejawiająca się globalizmem.

The ongoing process of society’s precarization shows that realizing sustainable and integrated development in the European Union countries remains purely declaratory. To justify this thesis, the study presented the economic meaning of the “process of society’s precarization”, its socioeconomic effects and primary sources, which are: basing countries’ eco-nomic systems on the doctrine of neoliberalism and increasing globalization manifesting itself as globalism.

Przeprowadzana obecnie w Polsce reforma nauki i szkolnictwa wyższego wśród szeregu zmian wprowadza również nowe regulacje dotyczące kwestii zatrudnienia pracowników naukowych. Artykuł stanowi prezentację tych zmian na tle szerszego kontekstu uwarunkowań pracy naukowców na różnych etapach kariery. Podjęto również próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy i w jakim sensie można mówić o prekaryzacji zatrudnienia w systemie nauki i szkolnictwa wyższego w naszym kraju.
