W artykule omówiono szczegółowo kwestię wypowiedzenia umowy ubezpieczenia na życie przez ubezpieczyciela oraz zmianę treści stosunku umownego o charakterze ciągłym w czasie jego trwania. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono problematyce wypowiedzenia i zmiany umowy ubezpieczenia na życie z ubezpieczeniowym funduszem kapitałowym, ze względu na odmienny charakter tego rodzaju umów. Problematyka ta odgrywa szczególnie istotną rolę w odniesieniu do ubezpieczeń na życie o charakterze długoterminowym, ponieważ przedmiotowe uprawnienie kształtujące, w szczególności zmiana umowy, wywiera wpływ na treść stosunku ubezpieczenia w długim okresie jego funkcjonowania.

The article is devoted to the termination and amendment of life insurance contracts. The issue of life insurance contract termination by the insurer has been discussed in detail together with the change of the contents of the continuous contractual relationship during its course. The author paid special attention to the termination and amendment of the unit-linked life insurance contracts due to a different nature of this kind of contracts. This question plays an exceptionally important role in the case of long-term life assurance, because the unilateral modification clause and, in particular, the amendment of the contract, exerts an influence on the contents of the insurance relationship over a long period of its operation.
