This paper sets out to delve into the relationship trust and professional authority in the context of health care. Understood in its micro-political terms and conceived as impacting on individual organisational levels and the socio-political; this relationship stands at the interface of competing pressures working to produce the increasing complexity of social life. “Trust” is inextricably linked with uncertainty and complexity while professional authority rests on the specialist knowledge claimed by the range of experts and technologists that inhabit the spaces through which social life is governed and complexity managed.

Judicial council is a significant authority which acts as a guarantor of independence of judicial power and simultaneously, in relationship to the public and all other public authorities, acts as a guarantor of legitimacy of judicial power by enforcing liability against judges if they break the law in their decisions. These functions of judicial council cannot be replaced with neither the education of judges, nor the election of presidents of courts, participation at making judiciary budgets or by the drafting of laws on organization of judiciary, or ethics of judiciary, etc.

Súdna rada je významný orgán štátu, ktorý voči súdnej moci pôsobí ako garant jej nezávislosti a zároveň voči verejnosti a ostatným orgánom verejnej moci pôsobí ako ručiteľ legitimity súdnej moci uplatňujúci zodpovednosť voči sudcom, ktorí pri výkone súdnej moci porušili právny poriadok. Tieto funkcie súdnej rady sa nedajú vynechať a nahradiť úlohami pri vzdelávaní sudcov, výbere predsedov súdov, vybavovaní sťažností na postup súdov, účasťou pri rozhodovaní o rozpočte justície, pri príprave legislatívy, ktorá sa jej dotýka, či dbaním o etickú úroveň sudcov a pod.
