Na tle skomplikowanych losów Berlina w XX wieku przedstawione zostały przekształcenia przestrzenno-społeczne metropolii oraz próby integracji przestrzeni podzielonego przez pół wieku miasta. Tym głównym zwornikiem miał stać się projekt aranżacji obszaru wokół placu Poczdamskiego, któremu starano się nadać także symboliczne znaczenie. W jakim stopniu to się udało? Przynajmniej częściową odpowiedź na pytanie to znajdujemy w artykule.

This article is devoted to socio-spatial transformation of Berlin and the attempts to reintegrate the city that remained divided for 50 years. Rearrangement of the Potsdamer Platz area was of crucial importance for this reintegration process, both for practical and symbolic reasons. To what extent was this project successful? The answer, or at least part of it, can be found in the article.
