In the field of work psychology there are posed questions and solved problems which concern individual effectiveness and satisfaction in one's occupational activity. Job is many times related with onerousness, the size of which is modified by personal and situational determinants. The current article contains presentation of theoretical and empirical analyses regarding job onerousness characteristic for the situation of managing one's own enterprise. Two aspects of that onerousness have been distinguished: perceived onerousness (job onerousness perception) and onerousness experienced as psychological costs (psychological costs of work). Researches have been made to examine whether these aspects are modified by some other determinants (both personal and situational determinants have been included). The performed analyses have proved that perceived onerousness depends on temporary engagement in job and financial gratification, and psychological costs of work are determined by neuroticism mainly.

Working environment has wide and multi-faceted impact on the functioning the person in society, family and his health. One of the most important organizational factors that affect the feelings, emotions, attitudes and behaviors of employees, as well as its efficiency and motivation to work is the organizational climate. Working environment also affects how employees experience their work and they incur in connection with the psychological costs of work. One of the significant cost sources of psychological costs is stress in work, which can be broadly defined as constantly experienced by the employee a sense of discomfort mental and / or physical caused by factors prevailing in the workplace, subjectively perceived by the employee as a nuisance. The article presents selected concepts of organizational climate and the concept of the psychological costs of work J. Mesjasz, and presents the results of my research. Research was carried out in Polish enterprises and shows the relation between climate work and psychological work costs incurred by employees.
The study deals with the importance of organizational climate (as understood by the Kolb concept) in terms of experiencing the nuisance factor and psychological costs of work. This issue was looked at in both its theoretical and empirical dimensions. A total of 464 persons were examined. The empirical material was analyzed statistically applying correlation analysis and one–way variance analysis. Results indicate that organizational climate is a significant determinant of intensity of the nuisance factor and psychological costs of work. The highest level of the nuisance factor and psychological costs of work is characteristic of examined individuals who work in an autocratic climate.

W opracowaniu podjęto zagadnienie znaczenia klimatu organizacyjnego (według koncepcji Kolba) dla doświadczenia uciążliwości pracy i psychologicznych kosztów pracy. Problematykę zrealizowano w wymiarze teoretycznym i empirycznym. Zbadano 464 osoby. Materiał empiryczny poddano opracowaniu statystycznemu z wykorzystaniem analizy korelacji, jednoczynnikowej analizy wariancji. Otrzymano wyniki, wskazujące, iż klimat organizacyjny stanowi znaczące uwarunkowanie intensywności uciążliwości pracy i psychologicznych kosztów pracy. Najwyższy poziom uciążliwości pracy i psychologicznych kosztów pracy charakteryzuje badanych pracujących w klimacie autokratycznym.
Artykuł porusza zagadnienia zaangażowania i przywiązania organizacyjnego, a także psychologicznych kosztów pracy w postaci wypalenia zawodowego wśród pracujących w elastycznych formach zatrudnienia w Polsce.

The article examines the issue of organizational engagement and attachment as well as the psychological costs of work in the form of occupational burnout among employees encompassed by flexible forms of employment in Poland. The presented results of empirical studies cover 2,118 respondents employed under nine types of flexible work: contracts for a defied period of time, part–time employment, commission work, self–employment, remote workers, substitutes, temporary workers, and seasonal workers as well as people employed in the social economy. The research was exploratory in nature because of the dearth of data on these variables in Polish non–traditional forms of employment.
