The identity of a person is multidimensional and multiangular, which is being formed in the course of the person’s life and the process of the forming of identity is connected with the stage of identity crisis, which could be characterized as the stage of the identity problem as well as the stage of the identity disorder. Identity Distress Survey is the instrument with has been worked to inquire the state of the person’s crisis multidimensionally which are formed by 7 inquiries as well as to determine if the identity crisis is evaluated as the identity of problems or as the disorder of the crisis in correspondence with the presumption developed by American Association of Psychiatrists, which is connected with the 3 additional scales of inquiry. The results of the Identity Distress Survey are shown in the environment of Latvia. The sample of adaptation consists of 500 respondent’s 18-27 ages (M = 18.8; SD = 1.19). The linguistic adaptation of the instrument was being carried out in the first period; the analysis of the results was being worked out during the second course of adaptation. In the course of the instrument adaptation in the psychometrical analysis was appointed Cronbach’s Alpha, the factorial validity, the analysis of the affirmatory factors, the convergential and divergential validity, Test- retest validity. The results gained in the course of adaptation of Identity Distress Survey are acknowledged to be acceptable and the instrumentitself - approved to be useful for further usage in investigations and can be practically used for psychological researches in Latvian cultural environment.
