Kształcenie zawodowe jest ściśle powiązane z uwarunkowaniami rynku pracy. Na skutek intensywnego postępu technologicznego uzyskane wiadomości dość szybko okazują się niewystarczającym atutem na rynku pracy. Dlatego tak istotne jest podnoszenie kwalifikacji zawodowych. W artykule zaprezentowana została jedna z form kształcenia ustawicznego osób dorosłych, jaką jest kwalifikacyjny kurs zawodowy, która daje możliwość uzyskiwania lub uzupełniania kwalifikacji zawodowych.

Vocational training is closely linked to the labour market conditions. As a result of intensive technological progress, the obtained knowledge is quickly becoming an insufficient asset on the labour market. Therefore, it is so important to improve one’s professional qualifications. The article presents one of the forms of adults’ lifelong learning, which is a qualifying vocational course. It gives the opportunity to obtain or supplement vocational qualifications.

The article presents the contemporary model of the archivist training in Poland within the framework of vocational education system. In accordance with the provisions of law, the technician profession can be attained in a two-year post-secondary school and after finishing qualifying professional courses. Core subjects implemented within the framework of theoretical and empirical vocational education which are the basis of the training were presented. The system of exams confirming the qualifications in archivist profession and the aims of vocational training in the context of dynamically changing needs of the labour and employers market are depicted. The factors determining the graduate's choice of post-secondary school and their choice of archives technician specialization were explained on the basis of own reasearch conducted in post-secondary schools in Lesser Poland region.
