The aim of this article is the linguistic analysis of one of the best preserved texts Sposób wychowania pieska panieńskiego in the chronicle of Władysław Bieniecki’s (king’s butler) wife . The instructions of how to deal with puppies were written by an unknown writer in the first half of the 18th century. The orthography of the text implies that the letters are multifunctional and capital letters overused. The author showed good writing skills, but used some archaic syntactic forms. There are numerous diminutives in the text typical of writers from the eastern parts of the country. The persuasive function can be observed in the use of the verb trzeba and adverb zawsze.
