W artykule podjęta została próba rekonstrukcji teorii uczenia się egzystencjalnego autorstwa Petera Jarvisa. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawione zostały ogólne uwagi na temat potrzeby teoretyzacji pola badawczego andragogiki, a także informacje na temat wykorzystanej metodologii badań. W drugiej części zaprezentowane zostały dwa ujęcia teorii uczenia się egzystencjalnego wraz z podsumowaniem.

The article attempts to reconstruct the theory of existential learning by Peter Jarvis. The first part of the paper presents the general information on the need to theorise the research field of andragogy as well as on the applied research methodology. The second part presents two approaches to the theory of existential learning and the conclusions.
