A healthy lifestyle, treated as taking care of both physical and mental health, has greater importance in the fast, busy and intense life of the current world. The opportunity to spend free time with family, friends or acquaintances, thanks to the rich recreational offer, is also more and more appreciated. The above aspects are also taken into account in the prepared and constantly enriched tourist offer of one of the most attractive cities in Europe – Kraków. The purpose of this article is to present Kraków’s recreational attractions, in terms of its impact on various aspects of our lives and health, as well as broad ranging groups of recipients. An attempt of evaluation and levels of offers in recreational activities around the city which has a very rich cultural, historical and national heritage attractiveness, will be also made.

Zdrowy styl życia, traktowany jako dbanie zarówno o zdrowie fizyczne, jak i psychiczne, ma coraz większe znaczenie w szybkim, zabieganym i intensywnym życiu współczesnego człowieka. Docenia się również coraz bardziej, dzięki bogatej ofercie rekreacyjnej, możliwość spędzania wolnego czasu z rodziną, przyjaciółmi czy znajomymi. Powyższe aspekty uwzględniane są w przygotowywanej i stale wzbogacanej ofercie turystycznej jednego z najatrakcyjniejszych miast Europy – Krakowa. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest prezentacja i analiza oferty Krakowa związanej z szeroko rozumianą rekreacją. Może być ona głównym celem przyjazdów do Krakowa lub stanowić cenne uzupełnienie kulturowego i historycznego programu pobytu. Posłużono się metodą kwerendy materiału źródłowego, zarówno zamieszczonego w Internecie, jak i publikowanego drukiem. Przeprowadzono również badania w terenie.

Contemporary conditions and determinants of rural tourism and the function of agritourism – agrifarm development specializing in ecology and recreation

Nowadays, there are many agrifarms and rural tourism objects in Poland. According to some definitions, not all of them could be labeled as strictly agritourist, but that is not so important for tourist. They are not only looking for the peace and fresh air of a rural place, but moreso for some physical activity, attractions, and some knowledge about the region. Due to rising ecological awareness, visitors also pay attention to some modern solutions in construction, housekeeping and agrifarming. Furthermore, it is very important to implement some client satisfaction measuring methods, used in the hospitality industry. Relying only on one’s own invention and quality of the natural and cultural environment seems to not be sufficient in contemporary agritourism and rural tourism. The aim of this paper is to visit some theoretical problems and indicate directions for agritourism development, especially in ecological and recreational areas. The authors want to draw attention to both problems, as they are very important but often forgotten.
