Celem tego artykułu jest próba udowodnienia, że w języku ukraińskim referen Daj, Boże! jako wiarian chrystianizowany z dawnim terminem Dażbóg może mieć alterantywę. Porównanie pogladów różnych uczonych dotyczące tego przykładu oraz przeprowadzona analiza struktury, używanej w ludowej ukraińskiej twórczości przekonuje, iż frazeologizm Daj Boze! jest starszy od atropomofonizacji bogów, a także i od teonimu Dażbóg, dlatego leksem bóg w składzie mogł być zwracaniem-wołaniem do jedynego Boga, jako najwyżeszego.

In this paper an attempt is made to prove that an interpretation of the refrain Day Bozhe! in Ukrainian, and not only in Ukrainian, which literally means “Give us God”, established as a Christianized variant of the interjection with the former pagan theonym Dazhbog, may have an alternative. By comparing views of different scholars on the interjection and providing an analysis of its structure as it is used in Ukrainian folk output, we attempt to show that the phrase Day Bozhe! is older than the culture of anthropomorphization of gods, and, therefore, older than the theonym Dazhbog. That is why lexeme god in its structure may have been a form of address-invocation to the only God as the supreme being.
