Zróżnicowanie jakości życia na obszarach wiejskich Unii Europejskiej

The research undertaken in the article concerns the regional diversification of rural areas at NUTS 2 level in the European Union in the context of quality of life measures and the evolution of territorial development. A modified HDI index was used to allow for the determination of the regional synthetic indicator of the quality of life. Thus, a huge gap between the most developed and underdeveloped areas was shown. The results indicate a real need for a variety of instruments to support rural areas in the EU.

Podjęty w artykule temat badawczy dotyczy kwestii zróżnicowania regionalnego obszarów wiejskich na poziomie NUTS 2 w krajach Unii Europejskiej w kontekście rozważań związanych z pomiarem jakości życia i kształtowaniem rozwoju terytorialnego. W opracowaniu wykorzystano zmodyfikowany miernik HDI, co pozwoliło na określenie syntetycznego wskaźnika jakości życia na obszarach wiejskich w ujęciu regionalnym. Przedstawiona analiza umożliwiła wykazanie dużego dystansu występującego między obszarami najbardziej rozwiniętymi i zacofanymi. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na potrzebę stosowania zróżnicowanych instrumentów wspierania obszarów wiejskich w UE.
