Planowanie i rozwój centrów logistycznych w Polsce uzależniony są od wielu uwarunkowań, które wpływają na podejmowanie decyzji lokalizacyjnych na poziomie regionalnym. Autor dokonuje analizy różnorodnych uwarunkowań, zwracając uwagę na aspekt polityki przestrzennej oraz rolę sektora publicznego w kreowaniu ich rozwoju. Porusza także problem rozwiązań zagranicznych, które mogą być cennym źródłem doświadczeń dla władz samorządowych w Polsce. Artykuł powstał w znacznej mierze na bazie własnych badań empirycznych autora, w latach 2008-2011, dotyczących centrów logistycznych w regionie łódzkim – jako studium przypadku. Wiele mechanizmów i doświadczeń zidentyfikowanych w tym regionie można odnieść – na zasadzie podobieństw rozwojowych – również do innych regionów i poczynić uogólnienia wnioskowe.

Planning and development of logistic centers in Poland are dependent on a number of conditions that have an influence on making investment decisions made on the regional level. The author makes an analysis of varied conditions, taking particular note of the aspect of spatial politics as well as the role of a public sector in supporting logistic centers development. There has also been brought up the problem of foreign solutions in terms of localization of logistic centers what can be a valuable source of experience for selfgovernment authorities. The presented article has for the most part developed on the basis of the author’s own examinations conducted in years 2008-2011 considering the logistic centers in Lodz and its region – treated as the case study. The series of mechanisms and experiences taking place in the city and the region can be also used in reference to other cities or urban agglomerations and generalized.
