W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję systemów bezpośrednich pożyczek społecznościowych, wdrażanych na skutek zmian w potrzebach użytkowników IT (konsumentów) i rozwoju technologii, a także wzrostu znaczenia social media i współpracy sieciowej. Na podstawie zaproponowanej metodyki dokonano oszacowania i analizy globalnego segmentu rynkowego pożyczek P2P lending, z uwzględnieniem dużego podzbioru platform chińskich. Wyznaczone rozmiary tego segmentu pozwoliły określić zakres jego oddziaływań na procesy rozwojowe gospodarki, zwłaszcza tworzenie nowych miejsc pracy. Zidentyfikowano główne korzyści i ryzyka wiążące się z badaną koncepcją oraz perspektywy jej rozwoju.

The paper presents a model of direct P2P lending systems launched in response to the IT users’ (consumers’) changing needs and determined by the technological progress and the growing role of social media and networking. Based on the methodology proposed by the author, the global P2P lending market segment is estimated and analysed, with a focus on a major subset of Chinese platforms. The size of this segment is measured so as to determine the extent of its influence on the processes of economic development, including in particular job creation. The main benefits and risks of the model are identified, as well as its growth prospects.
