Artykuł przedstawia wybrane elementy Korczakowskiej teorii i praktyki wychowawczej: tezę „dziecko to człowiek”, prawa dziecka, samorząd wychowanków. Szkic uzupełniają uwagi o początku i rozwoju systemu pedagogicznego Korczaka, a także refleksja o ostatnim etapie jego pracy wychowawczo-opiekuńczej w warszawskim getcie (1940-1942).

Presented article shows selected elements of Korczak’s theory and educational practice: the meaning of his thesis “the child is a human being”, children rights, self-government of pupils. The paper concludes with remarks concerning the beginning and development of Korczak’s educational system, as well as the reflection on the last phase of his educational and care work in Warsaw ghetto (1940-1942).
