The aim of this article is to discuss the issue of the internal monologue in the process of the actor’s self-improvement and further in his work on a role. The studies which are analyzed in this paper have been prepared for the classes in elementary actor’s tasks at Aleksander Sewruk Post- Secondary Acting School operating at the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn. The main task of the presented study is the demonstration of the rich interior life of main characters and their interpersonal problems. Therefore, the basic issue of this consideration relates to the internal language being the method for creative and effective education in the first stages of actors’ development – in the early years of studying at the acting school. All the consideration refers to the novel Lalka by Bolesław Prus. This novel has become an area for theatrical work for the students of acting schools and therefore the basis for both raising their awareness of the internal language and increasing its usefulness in the process of actors` self-improvement.
